Russian Tea Cakes

Russian Tea Cakes are a Christmas cookie classic and only take a handful of ingredients to make.  They are so tender and melt in your mouth when you bite into them, a definite winner!  This classic recipe from Betty Crocker is my go-to for these little snowball-like cookies.

Anytime you bake with nuts, it helps if you toast them up first to bring out their flavor.  I usually use walnuts or pecans for these (mostly because it's what I have on hand the most) but you can use whatever nut tickles your fancy! The dough is crumbly at first but as you shape the cookies it comes together.

They hold their shape when they bake so make sure you get your dough nice and round before you stick it in the oven.

Once baked, you roll the warm cookies in lots of powdered sugar to give them that signature snowball look.
