Happy National Pasta Day folks! Not that I ever need a reason to eat pasta, but why not :) For this fun food holiday I wanted to share some homemade pasta with you. It is surprisingly easy to make your own pasta from scratch. We used my KitchenAid but you don't need to have the fancy mixer attachments to make great pasta, it might just be more rustic shapes.
We made a bunch of different shapes and served with a variety of sauces for a fun "pasta bar" night, but you can stick to one shape and sauce, no one will judge you!
The dough came together pretty simply. If it's not perfect the first time you try it, just practice, it definitely isn't meant to be challenging! We used the extruder attachment for some bucatini and fusilli. These definitely took the longest because it takes time for the machine to push the dough through. (This attachment is also a pain to clean!)

Then we used the sheeter to make some ravioli, this was my favorite of the night! The ravioli filling was so fresh and tasty. The sheeter was also used for some fettucini which was another favorite (served with just butter and parmesan)
Seeing all the shapes we created laid out was a real eye-opener to see how much we had accomplished and how much you can do with the same pasta dough recipe!
We got to cooking, topped with our sauces, and dug in!
