"Fiori di Sicilia" makes these cookies sound so fancy and upscale, but they aren't hard to make at all. I never actually found Fiori di Sicilia flavoring either so I just used more vanilla extract. They still came out tasty!
I found these to be the perfect spritz cookie to keep that cookie press going after Christmas. The orange zest gives them a burst of citrus flavor perfect for spring and since the translation is "flowers of Sicily" I decided to go with the buttercup and daisy disks to make little flower cookies. I used some orange and yellow sugar to give a hint of the orange flavor inside.
This dough pressed really nicely and turned out quite beautiful. The flavors are subtle but delicious and these cookies were a huge hit!
