I think Bundt cakes are just a wonderful creation, but they are often somewhat simple looking, so I wanted to decorate this donut cake with even more donuts for some fun and color!

This is a great beginner recipe since it starts with cake mix (but totally tastes homemade when you're done), it is so easy to whip this batter together! The recipe gives us a nice thick and fluffy batter which we then put into our greased cake pan.

Once it bakes to a beautiful golden brown, the real magic happens as we poke holes and fill them with jelly to give it the "jelly donut" quality.  It looks a little messy and weird, but it's worth it.

Once that is complete and set, we can turn the pan out and see how perfectly baked our cake came out.  It is almost too beautiful to glaze, but we go ahead and glaze it anyway.

Between the cake steps for the big Bundt cake centerpiece, I used my mini treat maker to craft some easy mini donuts with a basic recipe I found from The Decorated Cookie.  Some quick colored frosting and Fancy Sprinkles and they were good to go in no time!

Put them together and we had a lovely centerpiece for our brunch table.

What is your favorite kind of donut?  I can't wait to explore more to make!
