Magic Bars

Magic bars are a deceptively easy treat and an often overlooked cookie.  But when on a cookie platter, everyone seems to gravitate right towards them as a favorite delight.

You simply make a graham cracker crust (graham cracker crumbs and melted butter,) press it into a pan, top it with sweetened condensed milk, layer on your toppings (in this case it is semi sweet chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and pecans) and top with sweetened shredded coconut.  Because there's really minimal mixing, no chilling or fancy rolling or cutting, this is a great recipe to whip up with kids!

Bake it until it turns golden brown and has all come together. Let it cool completely and set.

Once set, you can cut it into bars or squares and serve them up.  They are pretty rich, so make sure you cut them pretty small, you can always go back for seconds!
