Spritz cookies are another holiday classic, but I love to make them all year for different occasions because they are usually so beautiful. You do need a cookie press to make the shapes with these, but if you are serious about some cookie making, it's a great investment! I was gifted the OXO Good Grips Cookie Press and it's been very good to me the last few years.
Red velvet anything tends to be a hit, and I just love the vibrant color it gives to a classic spritz. I let my Kitchen Aid do all the work here, and the color gets blended in nicely.
The leaves changing colors is one of my absolute favorite things about fall, so I chose to use this red dough to make leaves with my cookie press. I used some yellow sugar to give them that nice glisten.
Of course these also work great as Christmas Cookies. I used the wreath shape and decorated with some nonpareils for that holiday flair. The egg wash is a must to get the sprinkles to stick nicely!
Are you a fan of spritz cookies? What shapes bring back holiday memories for you?
