Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins

I love pumpkin season!  I'm not a PSL girl, but give me all the pumpkin baked goods please and thank you.  This recipe from Skinnytaste took over the associated Facebook group for a few days so I knew I had to go ahead and give them a try.

I was lucky enough to get a big can of pumpkin, and everything else is stuff I had on hand which always makes me happy.

Mixing together the dry ingredients got me so excited as the spices just smelled so good.  Adding the pumpkin and other wet ingredients made this beautiful orange batter.  I went with some red and yellow muffin liners to compliment the colors.

Honestly, I feel like these would be great if you stopped at this point.  Just delicious pumpkin muffins, but the recipe takes it another step by adding in the cream cheese swirl.  My "swirl" stayed pretty much on the top of the muffin which worried me at first, but it worked out okay in the end.

I was so happy with how these turned out when I pulled them out of the oven.  They are super moist from the pumpkin and the cream cheese swirl makes it so they don't need any butter or anything else added.  The recipe made 12 muffins and my family gobbled them all up throughout the day.  Definitely will be made regularly this fall season!
